Owner of Pure Performance Golf Labs Tampa Bay
John was introduced to the game of golf as a freshman in high school and quickly developed a passion for the game. By his senior year John was ranked in the top five among his peers in the state of Connecticut.
After graduation John decided to turn his passion for the game into a career by enrolling in the San Diego Golf Academy (now Golf Academy of America). During his time at the academy John experienced many different avenues within the golf industry but what intrigued him the most was the custom fitting and equipment side of the business.
At the age of 24, shortly after completing his time at the golf academy John was hired as the head golf professional at Torrington Country Club in his home state of Connecticut. John was nominated by the PGA of America Connecticut section for being the youngest head golf professional at a private club. This platform allowed John to take his passion for the game to the next level. He would go on to develop multiple programs that educated his membership on the importance of proper club fitting and instruction. In addition John kept his own game sharp by competing in local PGA section tournaments and in the year 2000 was the second ranked player in the section.
In 2003 John decided it was time to challenge his entrepreneurship in the restaurant business which sent him back out west to Las Vegas Nevada where he co-founded the Tilted Kilt Pub and Eatery concept. Over several years John and his group grew the Tilted Kilt brand on a national and international level with over 100 locations. Throughout this time John quickly learned that consistency, customer service and having the right team in place are essential components of building a successful brand and business.
Utilizing all of his skills and experiences as an entrepreneur in the golf and restaurant industry John never stopped searching for new opportunities as an expert in brand development. Because of this John decided to invest in Pure Performance Golf Labs by opening a location in the Tampa Bay Area.
In the end like the one good shot a golfer hits during a round that keeps him coming back, John never lost sight or gave up on his true passion for the game of golf.
